Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Justification for soil organisms: For substances being considered as „readily“, it can be assumed that they will be completely biologically degraded within the STP process. Furthermore, for substances not passing the STP-process but being readily, it can be assumed that they will be also biological degraded in the surface water within a short time. Therefore, no tests on soil organisms are provided. The predicted no effect concentration (PNEC) for soil was derived from the PNEC for freshwater using the equilibrium partitioning method.

Justification for birds:

In Annex X of the Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006, it is suggested, that in case of long term toxicity testing to birds "any need for testing should be carefully considered taking into account the large mammalian dataset that is usually available at this tonnage level." Furthermore, ECHA (2008) states in the "Guidance on information requirements and chemical safety assessment Chapter R.7c" that "given that mammalian toxicity is considered in detail for human health protection, the need for additional data for birds must be considered very carefully – new tests are a last resort in the data collection process." As the substance is not bioaccumulative and because of reasons of animal welfare, no study on toxicity in birds is performed.
