Details on results:
Pow and log Pow were calculated from the solubilities in n-octanol saturated water and water saturated n-octanol (see below)

Any other information on results incl. tables

The following solubilities were obtained:

- Solubility in n-octanol saturated water: mean 18.8 µg/L (sigma = 2.3, individual values: 17.2, 17.8 and 21.4 µg/L)

- Solubility in water saturated n-octanol: mean 2980 µg/L (sigma = 0.05, individual values: 2930, 2990 and 3030 µg/L)

These solubilities are used to calculate Pow with the following equation:

Pow = solubility in water saturated n-octanol / n-octanol saturated water

Pow = 2980 µg/L / 18.8 µg/L

Pow = 159

log Pow = 2.2

This value is based on measurements taken at 24 -25°C (24°C entered above)

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Conclusions:
The test substance has a log Pow of 2.2.
Executive summary:
The log Pow of the test substance C.I. Pigment Violet 19 was calculated from the solubilities in n-octanol saturated water and in water saturated n-octanol. The log Pow at 24 -25°C was 2.2.
