Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

No biodegradation is expected in water and sediment simulation testing.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

Three studies are available on the anaerobic degradation, conducted according to procedures outlined into the ECETOC Technical Report No. 28: the degradation rates are unpredictably variable, ranging from 0 to 78 % of degradation; therefore a conclusion cannot be reached. A further result of TOC at 30 days of 90 % is here reported related to a study conducted according to the OECD 303 A, but being available only the summary it can be not considered as reliable.

Nevertheless, the field study available conducted at a full-scale STP gave no evidence of biodegradation when the mass flow was monitored (Poiger T., 1994).

It is assumed that the test substance would be non biodegradable in simulation tests.
