Description of key information

As the result of a LLNA test performed in mice according to OECD guideline 429, dicumyl peroxide was found to be not sensitising. The simulation index for cell count did not exceed the threshold of 1.4, when tested at concentration up to 50% (25 µL/ear).

Dicumyl peroxide was found to be not sensitising to skin.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Skin sensitisation

Endpoint conclusion
Endpoint conclusion:
no adverse effect observed (not sensitising)

Respiratory sensitisation

Endpoint conclusion
Endpoint conclusion:
no study available
Additional information:

No data regarding repiratory sensitisation are available.

Justification for classification or non-classification

Based on negative results obtained in reliable studies classification of dicumyl peroxide as a skin sensitizer is not warranted according to EU regulation 1272/2008.
