Additional information

In a guideline (OECD 202) and GLP study, the 48 -hour EC50 for Solvent 14, a substance that falls under the description "ethanol, 2-butoxy-, manufacture of, by-products from", in Daphnia magna was determined to be >3200 mg/L. The NOEC was 1800mg/l.

In a guideline (ParCom) study, the 48 -hour LC50 of DCP 208, a substance that falls under the description "Poly(oxy-1,2,-ethanediyl), α-butyl, ω-hydroxyl", in the marine copepod Acardia tonsa was determined to be 310 mg/.  In a GLP 96 -hour limit test in brown shrimp (Crangon crangon), exposure to 1000 mg/L of the same substance did not result in significant mortalities or marked reactions. The former study is used to derive the marine EC50.

None of these studies indicate that this substance or those similar to it warrant labelling as dangerous to the environment according to EU regulations on classification and labelling of substances.
