The patent application gives a detailed description of the purification of indigo upon heating the indigo in hydrocarbons, halogenated hydrocarbons, ether, ketones, acid amides, nitriles, alcohols, esters or there mixutres at temperatures from 150-250 °C giving pure indigo, that means that indigo is absolutely stable at these temperatures.
