D-Glucopyranose, oligomeric, C10-16-alkyl polyglycosides (CAS: 110615-47-9) is not harmful to sediment organisms under conditions tested.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The toxicity of D-Glucopyranose, oligomeric, C10-16-alkyl glycosides (CAS: 110615-47-9) towards sediment organisms was investigated in one short-term study with the endobenthic marine amphipod Corophium volutator (Hudson, 2001). The test was performed according to the OSPARCOM guideline (1995): Sediment bioassay using an amphipod Corophium sp. At test termination after 10 days a LC50 of 650.45 mg a. i./kg sediment dw and a NOEC of 71.36 mg/kg sediment dw resulted based on the mortality. In conclusion D-Glucopyranose, oligomeric, C10-16-alkyl glycosides is not harmful to sediment organisms under conditions tested. Long-term data should not be generated because of the low log Koc (1.7) and the ready biodegradability of the test substance.
