Description of key information

Section 9.1.6 of Annex IX of Regulation 1907/2006 states that long-term toxicity testing shall be proposed by the registrant if the Chemical Safety Assessment indicates the need to investigate further the effects on aquatic organisms. The Chemical Safety Assessment does not indicate any concern with regard to the long-term toxicity to fish from the substance, including bioaccumulation studies performed for more than 50 days with daily levels of exposure, and so no further investigation is considered necessary and therefore no further testing is considered to be required. A multi-generation aquatic algae study also supports the argument that this substance shows no long-term toxicity to aquatic organisms. ECHA Chapter R.7B and R.7C guidance states that if the PEC/PNEC ratio is below 1, then no risk for the compartment is indicated, that the information available may be sufficient to conclude the assessment, and there is no need to perform further tests.
