PBT assessment: overall result

PBT status:
the substance is PBT / vPvB
Justification:

N,N-dicyclohexylbenzothiazole-2-sulphenamide

P-criterion: In a soil simulation study DCBS showed half-lives of >180 days at 12°C. Thus the definitve criterion for vP is fulfilled.

B-criterion: DCBS has an experimentally determined BCF of max. 7310 (MITI, 2005), which is in line with the high log Kow value of 5.95 and indicates a high bioaccumulation potential of the substance. Therefore the criteria based on Annex XIII for vB are fulfilled.

T-criterion: the substance does not meet any of the criteria given in REACH Annex XIII.

Potential degradation products

have to be considered in the PBT assessment for DCBS as parent compound, as well:

Dicyclohexylamine: not P (vP), not B (vB), T

MBT: not P (vP), not B (vB), not T

As a conclusion , DCBS fulfills the definitive critaria for vPvB.
