Description of key information

In accordance with Column 2 of REACH Annex IX the study does not need to be conducted on the grounds that the chemical safety assessment, conducted according to Annex I, indicates that it is not necessary.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

Testing is not considered necessary because:

  • The substance is of low toxicity to aquatic organisms.
  • The parent acid substance and its counter ion are naturally occurring in sediment organisms.
  • The substance has a negative Log KOW value and is therefore not expected to be taken up and accumulated by sediment organisms.
  • Risk characterisation ratios obtained using a PNECsedimentcalculated from the PNECaquaticby the equilibrium partitioning method are <1.

In accordance with Column 2 of REACH Annex X, the requirement for long-term toxicity data for sediment-dwelling organisms (required in Section 9.5.1.iswaived on the grounds that the chemical safety assessment, conducted according to Annex I, indicates that it is not necessary.
