Additional information

Information regarding flash point of hexylene glycol was sourced from various handbooks or review articles including Merck Index: An Encyclopedia of Chemicals, Drugs, and Biologicals (14th Edition), ACGIH (2001), Patty's Industrial Hygiene and Toxicology (4th Ed.), Dangerous Properties of Industrial Materials (7th Ed.), the Condensed Chemical Dictionary (10th Ed). However, ACGIH and Patty's Industrial Hygiene and Toxicology cite secondary sources that are not peer-reviewed, and thus, are not considered valid. Instead, flash point of hexylene glycol was sourced from Merck Index, Dangerous Properties of Industrial Materials, and Condensed Chemical Dictionary, which used primary and peer-reviewed sources, and is reported to be 93 ºC (366.15 K) using an open-cup method. No information on atmospheric pressure was reported.
