Description of key information

'Yellow disazo condensation pigments' are with high probability acutely not harmful to fish. No toxic effects occured at the range of the substance solubility. LC50 (96h) > 100 mg/L (nominal) for Poecilia reticulata was determined (OECD 203, EU Method C.1).

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The acute toxicity of the test substance on fish was investigated with guppy Poecilia reticulate as test species according to OECD guideline 203 (CETA, 2011). Based on the low water solubility of the test item, a saturated stock solution was prepared and filtered through 0.45 µm filter. The acute fish test was conducted as limit test with a nominal concentration of 100 mg/L. After 96 hours of exposure an LC50 value above 100 mg/L was determined.
