Additional information

Dipentaerythritol ester of nC5/iC9 acids exhibits a low water solubility (< 0.0775 mg/L), therefore and due to its chemical structure, hydrolysis is not a relevant pathway for abiotic degradation in the aquatic environment.

In addition, the substance shows low biodegradation in water (14%) under the stringent test conditions for OECD 301 ready biodegradation testing. However, the bioavailability of the substance and bioaccumulation potential in the aquatic compartment is low as it has a low potential for crossing biological membranes of aquatic organisms due to the high molecular weight and size of its components (> 800 g/mol). Its high log Koc value (> 5.63) indicates adsorption potential and partitioning to soil and sediment.
