Additional information

In the key study performed according to German standard DIN 38412, part 9 Scenedesmus subspicatus was exposed to di-isopropanolamine for 72 hours. At termination of the study an ErC50 of 339 mg/l was determined (72 -h ErC10 = 219 mg/L; BASF AG, 1988).

In contrast, an EC50 of 74 mg/l based on the growth rate of Selenastrum capricornutum was determined in a second study after 72 hours (Nagpal, 2003). However, these data are insufficient for the assessment, as no details on test performance are given.

Furthermore, Eide-Haugmo et al. (2012/2009) performed a guideline study according to ISO 10253 with the marine algae Skeletonema costatum. After 72 hours an ErC50 of 240.0 mg/L was determined.
