A study on the toxicity to the earthworm Eisenia fetida according to OECD guideline 207 did not reveal any toxic effects of the compound (BASF 2012). Furthermore, the aquatic toxicity assessment covering all three trophic levels reveals neither a need to classify the substance as dangerous for the environment, nor is it a PBT or vPvB substance.

Additionally, as a pigment in paints and plastic products, the substance will be included into a matrix without any significant further release to the environment. Therefore, a direct and indirect exposure of the soil compartment is unlikely. In Annex IX of Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 it is laid down that studies on the effects on terrestrial organisms do not need to be conducted if direct and indirect exposure of the soil compartment is unlikely.

Based on the available data on Eisenia fetida and the lack of any toxic effects concerning both, aquatic and terrestrial toxicity, the risk to other terrestrial organisms is expected to be very low as well. Hence, no further studies on the toxicity to terrestrial organisms are provided.
