No data on the terrestrial toxicity of 1,2-epoxybutane is provided. The test substance is not supposed to be directly applied to soil, and based upon a calculated log Koc of 1.3, adsorption to the solid soil phase is not expected. The substance is classified as readily biodegradable (Chapter 5.2.1), so it can be assumed the substance will be completely biologically degraded within the STP process. Hence, an indirect exposure to soil via sewage sludge transfer is unlikely. Furthermore, due to a low log Kow, no accumulation in organisms is expected (Chapter 5.3.1).
