Administrative data
First-aid measures
Swallowing: Drink water in small sips (Diluting effect). Do not give milk, oily products, fat or alcohol. Give medicinal activated charcoal 10 g in 100 mL water at 20 minute intervals (5 x).
Inhalation: Remove to fresh air.
Skin contact: Immediately remove contaminated clothing. Wash affected area thoroughly with warm water using a mild soap. Continue to rinse with water for at least 15 minutes.
Eye contact: Immediately flush eyes with water and continue washing for at least 15 minutes.
Fire-fighting measures
Extinguishing media Suitable: Water, dry powder (BC-powder), alcohol resistant foam, foam, carbon dioxide.
Hazardous combustion products: Burning produces noxious and toxic fumes.
Special protective equipment for firefighters: Wear a positive-pressure supplied-air respirator with full facepiece.
Accidental release measures
Personal precautions: Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Provide sufficient ventilation.
Environmental precautions: Prevent from entering sewer system, surface water or soil.
Methods for cleaning up:
Large quantities: Dike spilled product with liquid absorbing material and pump off.
Small quantities: Contain spillage, soak up with non-combustible absorbent material, (e.g. sand, earth, diatomaceous earth, vermiculite) and transfer to a container for disposal according to local / national regulations

Exposure controls / personal protection
The substance is utilised only as an on-site isolated intermediate used under strictly controlled conditions in accordance with Article 17(3) of the REACH Regulation. As such, exposure to the substance is controlled throughout the substance’s lifecycle through the use of sealed, dedicated manufacturing equipment. When the substance is isolated and prior to transfer to subsequent reaction apparatus, it is handled by fully trained workers using appropriate personal and respiratory protective equipment to appropriate national and international standards.
Site documentation to support safe handling arrangements including the selection of engineering, administrative and personal protective equipment controls in accordance with risk-based management systems is available at the Manufacturing site.
Written confirmation of application of Strictly Controlled Conditions is held at the manufacturing site. As the substance is an on-site isolated intermediate, there are no Downstream Users or other actors down the supply chain.
The provision of personal protective equipment and the need to provide engineering control measures should be decided upon by the user as part of a formal exposure risk assessment.
Based upon the available toxicological information the protective measures described below should be regarded as a minimum.
> Engineering measures
- Use closed processing systems or containment technologies.
- Ensure that eyewash stations and safety showers are close to the workstation location.
- Highly effective exhaust ventilation
- Industrial hygiene measures: Do not eat or drink at work. Immediately remove contaminated clothing.
> Personal protective equipment
- Respiratory protection: In the case of vapour formation use a respirator with an approved filter. Respiratory protection complying with EN 141. ABEK-P3-filter
- Hand protection: Protective gloves

The selected protective gloves have to satisfy the specifications of EU Directive 89/686/EEC and the standard EN 374 derived from it.
Before removing gloves clean them with soap and water.

Disposal considerations
Waste treatment methods
- Product: Store substance within a closed system. Transfer via enclosed lines. Provide onsite wastewater treatment. Dispose of as hazardous waste in compliance with local and national regulations. Dispose of wastes in an approved waste disposal facility.
