Additional information

From the available data, it can be observed that the test material has a high potential for bioaccumulation, which was demonstrated across a variety of species. Further to this, it was noted that little to no biodegradation occurs in sediment, and any biodegradation in water was masked by the inhibitory affect of the test material on the culture. However, the potential for biodegradation in water and sediment is dependant on the species present in the inoculum (as presented by Errécalde et al (1995)) and can attain up to 32 % degradation when dosed at low levels in favourable conditions.
