Description of key information
In a GLP study conducted to a BS4633: Method for the Determination of Crystallizing Point, designed to be compatible with EU Method A.1, the freezing point of the test material was determined. The freezing point of the test material was recorded to be less than 253 K (± 0.5 K), less than -20 °C (± 0.5 °C).
Key value for chemical safety assessment
- Melting / freezing point at 101 325 Pa:
- -20 °C
Additional information
Butler RE & White DF (2010) was selected as the key study for this data requirementas the study was performed to a method designed to be compatible with EU method A.1, and was GLP compliant. The study was considered of high reliability and therefore suitable as a stand alone study. A reliability rating of 1 was assigned to this study, according to the criteria of Klimisch, 1997
Supporting information is also available from a material safety data sheet, Atofina Chemicals Inc. (2001).
A reliability rating of 4 was assigned to this study, according to the criteria of Klimisch, 1997 as this information is from a secondary source.
Result: - 18 °C (no pressure reported)
