Persistence
The substance has been shown to be inherently biodegradable and readily biodegradable. As such, the substance is likely to rapidly degrade in the environment and therefore is not considered to be persistent.
Bioaccumulation
Hexyl acetate has a measured log Kow of 3.3 and therefore is not considered to be bioaccumulative. Also, the estimated BCF of 69.88 L/kg indicates that the substance has a low potential for bioaccumulation.
Toxicity
The substance is not classified as carcinogenic, mutagenic, or toxic for reproduction. As the substance does not fulfil any of the other criteria for classification as toxic under REACH Annex XIII, classification as toxic is not necessary.
