Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Data are available in an OECD guideline study under GLP conditions.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

EC50 for freshwater algae:
97 mg/L
EC10 or NOEC for freshwater algae:
97 mg/L

Additional information

In an OECD TG 201 study, algae (Pseudokirchneriello subcapitata) were exposed for 72 hours to mean measured concentrations of 3.0, 5.8, 12, 24, 47 and 97 mg/L (Springborn Smithers, 2006, RL= 1). The 72 hr EbC50 and ErC50 values (biomass and growth rate) were both greater than the highest mean measured dose tested (>97 mg/L).  The mean measured NOEC for growth inhibition based on the biomass endpoint was considered to be 47 mg/L and 97 mg/L for the growth rate endpoint.
