As indicated in the Guidance on Information Requirements and Chemical Safety Assessment Chapter R.7a: Endpoint Specific Guidance, Appendix R.7.1.15 (Adsorption/Desorption), substances with a Koc below 500 -1,000 L/Kg are generally unlikely to adsorb to sediment. The estimated soil adsorption coefficient of dicyclohexylphthalate ( Koc = 2884 L/Kg from log Kow) indicates that the test item tends to adsorb to soil and sediment however being the substance readly biodegradable as shown in the sreening test carried out both via an automatic oxygen consumption analyzer and a Gas Chromatography detector FID and having the substance a BCF of 85 as yielded by the CAESAR model it is expected that the substance is unlikely to bioaccumulate and hence pose any risk.
