Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

The short-term toxicity of the structurally related substance "Analogue substance 1" to fish was investigated in three different studies. In a guideline study according to OECD 203 a LC50 (96h) > 100 mg/L was observed on Poecilia reticulate (Clariant, 2002). This result is substantiated by the outcome of two studies conducted by Little et al. in which the TL50 values on Pimephales promelas exceeded 180 mg/L in both cases (Little et al. 1972, 1974). These results are considered to be adaptable for the test substance as well due to their structural similarities. Based on the values obtained for "Analogue substance 1" the test substance is considered to be acutely not harmful to fish.

Read across document is attached in section 13.

Finally, a summary is available on Direct Red 239, following OECD 202 (Kemira, 1989), but unfortunately the original report could not be retrieved.

The information available show an EC50 > 1000 mg/l, confirming the non toxicity to fish of the tested substance.
