Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Skin Sensitisation

Because the substance H2TiF6 is a highly corrosive liquid (Skin Corr. 1, H314: Causes severe skin burns and eye damage), no experimental studies investigating skin sensitisation are available. Further, read-across is applied from the solid salt dipotassium hexafluorotitanate (K2TiF6), which was shown not to be sensitising in a guideline conform study according to OECD Guideline 406 (guinea pig maximisation study, Reference: Hall, D.A. (2013)). No classification for skin sensitisation is required for H2TiF6.

Justification for selection of skin sensitisation endpoint:

Read-across to H2TiF6 (no testing possible because of corrosivity) from non-corrosive salt dipotassium hexafluorotitanate based on structural similarities.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Skin sensitisation

Endpoint conclusion
Endpoint conclusion:
no adverse effect observed (not sensitising)

Justification for classification or non-classification
