Tricalcium bis(orthophosphate) is an inorganic phosphate and therefore a ready biodegradation test is not applicable. As elements calcium and phosphorus are persistent in environment. In aquatic environmental compartments the substance trends to dissociate to calcium and phosphate ions and present in the most stable oxidation states (as Ca+2and P+5). Both ions do not undergo oxidation-reduction transformation under normal environmental conditions. The calcium cation and the phosphate anion have no potential mechanism for further hydrolysis. Photodegradation is not relevant for tricalcium bis(orthophosphate).
