Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

In a 72h non-GLP guideline study using Scenedesmus subspicatusas as test organism, an EC50 of 33.9 mg/L for biomass was determined (CIBA-GEIGY 1992, Report 928144). DMF and Alkyl-phenol-polyglycolether were used as a vehicle. No effects in the solvent control could be observed.

In a 72h non-GLP guideline study on an analogues substance using Scenedesmus subspicatus as test organism, an EC50 of 60 mg/L for biomass was determined. Lecithin was used as a solvent, however in a very high concentration 0.4 mg/L, which is above the vehicle limit of present guidelines. Almost 30 % of algae were inhibited in the solvent control (CIBA-GEIGY 1992, Report 928155).

In conclusion, both effect concentrations are well above the solubility limit of the test substances (water solubility < 1 mg/L, see chapter 4.8 in IUCLID). Therefore, they represent a worst case assumption where water solubility is achieved by excessive use of solvent. In conclusion, the substance shows no effect in the range of water solubility.
