Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

1) Key: An acute toxicity test with invertebrates (Daphnia magna) (48h) (K1) (OECD 202 & GLP) resulted in an EC50 (immobility) > 1.8 mg/L and a NOEC = 0.36 mg/L (both represent measured values).

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Fresh water invertebrates

Fresh water invertebrates
Effect concentration:
1.8 mg/L

Additional information

The available short-term Daphnia study (Putt, 1995) resulted in an unbound EC50 value (immobility, 48h), however a NOEC of 0.36 mg/L was established for D.magna after 48h of exposure. A Water Accommodated Fraction (WAF) was used to expose the organisms to chemical concentrations equal or above the water solubility. As this test was performed according to the internationally accepted guidelines, the results were found suitable for risk assessment and classification purposes.
