PBT assessment: overall result

PBT status:
the substance is not PBT / vPvB
Justification:

Dibutylamine (CAS 111 -92 -2) is not PBT or vPvB.

In a modified MITI test, dibutylamine was readily biodegradable (according to OECD criteria, NITE 1991, see IUCLID Ch. 5.2.1) and therefore not P/vP. The substance is not B/vB based on an experimentally derived log Kow of 2.1 (pH 12.0, 23 °C, BASF SE, 2010, see IUCLID Ch. 4.7). In addition, in a weight-of-evidence approach, several QSAR models showed that dibutylamine does not accumulate significantly in organisms. The estimated BCF values range from 5.75 to 46.0 L/kg based on valid data from five QSAR models (see IUCLID Ch. 5.3.1). The substance is also not T since the lowest available chronic value is >> 0.01 mg/L and the substance holds no relevant classification.
