First-aid measures

IF IN EYES: Rinse cautiously with water for several minutes. Remove contact lenses, if present and easy to do. Continue rinsing. Immediately call a POISON CENTER or doctor/physician.

IF ON CLOTHING: rinse immediately contaminated clothing and skin with plenty of water before removing clothes.

Fire-fighting measures

In case of major fire and large quantities: Evacuate area. Fight fire remotely due to the risk of explosion, in case of fire: Use extinguishing measures that are appropriate to local circumstances and the surrounding environment for extinction

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions: Keep away from incompatible products. Keep away from water. Refer to protective measures listed under “handling and storage”.

Methods for cleaning up: Do not add chemical products. Pick up and arrange disposal without creating dust. All receiving equipment should be clean, vented, dry, labelled and made of material that is compatible with the product. Treat recovered material as described in the section "Disposal considerations".

Handling and storage

Keep away from heat/sparks/open flames/water/hot surfaces/direct sunlight, do not smoke. Keep/Store away from clothing/combustible materials. Take any precaution to avoid mixing with combustible materials (reducing agents).

measures listed under “handling and storage”. Apply technical measures to comply with the occupational exposure limits.

Occupational exposure controls

Please refer to the exposure scenarios for RMMs (chapter 13)

Stability and reactivity

Stability: Potential for exothermic hazard. Stable under recommended storage conditions.

Conditions to avoid: Exposure to moisture. To avoid thermal decomposition, do not overheat.

Materials to avoid: Acids, Reducing agents, Flammable materials, Combustible material, Powdered metal salts, Polyvinylchloride.

Hazardous decomposition products: nitrogen oxides (NOx), SrO

Disposal considerations

Waste from residues / unused products: Can be eliminated from water by precipitation. In accordance with local and national regulations.

Packaging treatment: Containers that cannot be cleaned must be treated as waste.

RCRA Hazardous Waste:

(a)       Listed RCRA Hazardous Waste (40 CFR 302) – No

(b)       Unlisted RCRA Hazardous Waste (40 CFR 302) – Yes

(c)       D001 (ignitable waste)
