Registration Dossier

Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

- After inhalation: Remove to fresh air. If not breathing, give artificial respiration. If breathing is difficult, give oxygen. Get medical attention if symptoms appear.

- After swallowing: If affected person is fully conscious, give one glass of water to drink. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. Get medical attention if symptoms appear.

- After skin contact: Immediately flush skin with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes while removing contaminated clothing and shoes. Get medical attention immediately.

- After eye contact: In case of contact, immediately flush eyes with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes. Get medical attention immediately.

Fire-fighting measures

- Suitable extinguishing media: In case of fire, use water spray (fog), foam, dry chemical or CO2

- Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture: No specific data. Decomposition products may include the following materials: nitrogen oxides (NO, NO2 etc.), carbon oxides (CO, CO2), organic materials

- Advice for fire fighters: Fire-fighters should wear positive pressure self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) and full turnout gear.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures: Immediately contact emergency personnel. Keep unnecessary personnel away. Use suitable protective equipment (see below Exposure controls/personal protection section for details). Follow all fire-fighting procedures as described above.

Handling and storage

- Advice on handling: Avoid contact with eyes, skin and clothing. Wash thoroughly after handling.

- Advice on storage, including any incompatibilities: Keep container tightly closed. Keep container in a cool, well-ventilated area

Exposure controls / personal protection

Appropriate engineering controls: Provide exhaust ventilation or other engineering controls to keep the airborne concentrations of vapors below their respective threshold limit value.

Individual protection measures:

- Safety goggles are considered minimum protection. Goggles with a face shield may be necessary depending on quantity of material and conditions of use.

- Skin protection:

- Hand Protection: Wear chemical resistant gloves. Nitrile gloves of minimum thickness 0.4 mm have an expected breakthrough time of 480 mi          utes or less when in frequent contact with the product. Due to variable exposure conditions the user must consider that the practical use of a              chemical-protective glove in practice may be much shorter than the permeation time above. Manufacturer’s directions for use, especially abo              ut the minimum thickness and the minimum breakthrough time, must be observed. This information does not replace suitability tests by the e              nd user since glove protection varies depending on the conditions under which the product is used.

- Body protection: Where contact is likely, wear chemical resistant gloves, a chemical resistant suit, and boots. Additional body garments should         be used based upon the task being performed.

- Respiratory protection: Use appropriate respiratory protection if there is the potential to exceed the exposure limit(s).

Environmental exposure controls: Emissions from ventilation or work process equipment should be checked to ensure they comply with the requirements of environmental protection legislation. In some cases, fume scrubbers, filters or engineering modifications to the process equipment will be necessary to reduce emissions to acceptable levels.

Stability and reactivity

- Reactivity: No specific test data related to reactivity available for this product or its ingredients.

- Chemical stability: The product is stable.

- Conditions to avoid: High temperatures, sparks, and open flames.

- Incompatible materials: Strong oxidizing and reducing agents. There is a possibiity that small amounts of nitrosamines may be formed if this product is used in formulations which also contains sodium nitrite.

- Hazardous decomposition products: No specific data. Decomposition products may include the following materials: carbon oxides (CO, CO2) nitrogen oxides (NO, NO2 etc.) organic materials

Disposal considerations

Waste must be disposed of in accordance with federal, state and local environmental control regulations.
