Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

The flash point of the substance is reported to be 32°C (closed cup).

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Flash point at 101 325 Pa:
32 °C

Additional information

A literature review was conducted. In a weight of evidence approach the literature values were evaluated. The GESTIS database, the Hommel Handbook of Dangerous Goods and the Lange's Handbook of Chemistry reported the flash point to be 32 °C at 1013 hPa. The Knovel Critical Tables reported the flash point to be 23 -32.8 °C at ambient pressure. The value from the GESTIS database was chosen as key parameter for the flash point.  A flash point of 32 °C is regarded to be reliable for the substance.

The following classification criteria are met:

10 (flammable) of EU Directive 67/548/EEC: flash point >= 21 °C and <= 55 °C;

Flammable liquids, Category 3 (flammable liquids and vapour) of EU CLP: flash point >= 23 °C and <= 60 °C
