Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

N,N'-bis(3-aminopropyl)ethylenediamine was tested in a GLP guideline study following OECD 301B (CO2 Evolution Test; enhanced test period). The substance was degraded by 70% after 28 days and by 81% after 60 days (based on CO2/ThCO2). The 10 -days window was met. Hence, the substance is readily biodegradable according to OECD criteria (BMG, 2012; BASF report No. 22G0402/04X047).

This result is supported by a biodegradation study performed in activated sludge units conducted similar to OECD 303 A. Based on TOC removal, the substance was degraded by 85% after 42 days (Popp, 1977).
