Toxicity to sediment organisms is not a standard requirement according to Annex IX of Regulation (EC) No. 1907/2006 and there is no indication from the Chemial Safety Assessment according to Annex I on the need to investigate further the effects on sediment organisms. The substance has a low potential for adsorption to sediment particles indicated by a log Kow (-1.24 - 0.36). Moreover, the environmental exposure assessment for diethyleneglycol diformate (CAS 120570-77-6) according to Annex XI, Section 3 of Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 indicates no risk for the sediment compartment (all RCR < 1; please refer to Chapter 9 and 10 of the Chemical Safety Report for detailed information). Thus, a study with sediment organisms is not deemed necessary.
