Additional information

One experimental study investigating the short-term toxicity of diethyleneglycol diformate (CAS 120570-77-6) to marine fish is available (Rowlands, 2008). The study was performed according to “Paris Commission (PARCOM, 1995). Protocol for a Fish Acute Toxicity Test. Oslo andCommission Protocol.” (GLP) using the turbot Scophthalmus maximus. Test organisms were exposed to a nominal concentration of 33.1 mg/L under semi-static conditions. A nominal test concentration of 33.1 mg/L did not result in any mortality after 96 h of exposure. Thus, a LC50 (96 h) of > 33.1 mg/L was derived. Since the substance is susceptible to abiotic hydrolysis (DT50: 1.24 d (pH7) and 2.98 h (pH8) (HYDROWIN v2.00)) the result reflects the effectsof the parent substance as well as the hydrolysis products.
