First-aid measures

Eye contact: Rinse with plenty of water.

Skin contact: Wash off with soap and plenty of water.

Inhalation: Move to fresh air. If symptoms persist, call a physician.

Ingestion: Do not induce vomiting. Drink plenty of water. Seek medical advice.

Fire-fighting measures

Suitable extinguishing media: Use foam, dry chemical or carbon dioxide (CO2)

Extinguishing media which must not be used for safety reasons: Water

Special protective equipment for fire-fighters: Wear self contained breathing apparatus for fire fighting if necessary.

Special exposure hazards in a fire: Hazardous decomposition products.

Further information: Risk of dust explosion.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions:  Avoid breathing dust.

Fine dust dispersed in air may ignite. Avoid dust formation. Take precautionary measures against static discharges.

Environmental precautions: Try to prevent the material from entering drains or water courses.

Methods for cleaning up: Sweep up and shovel into suitable containers for disposal.

Handling and storage

Handling: Avoid dust formation. Provide adequate ventilation. Avoid exceeding of the given occupational exposure limits. Take precautionary

measures against static discharges.

Storage: Keep tightly closed in a dry, cool and well-ventilated place.

Exposure controls / personal protection

4 mg/m3 UK EH40respirable dust LTEL

10 mg/m3UK EH40 Total dust LTEL

Personal protective equipment: The resistance of the protective clothing to chemicals should be ascertained with the manufacturer/supplier.

Hygiene measures: General industrial hygiene practice.

Personal precautions: Do not breathe dust.

Eye protection: Safety glasses

Respiratory protection: Dust safety masks are recommended when the dust concentration is more than 10 mg/m3. Apply technical measures to

comply with the occupational exposure limits.

Skin and body protection: lightweight protective clothing

Stability and reactivity

Conditions to avoid: Direct sources of heat.

Materials to avoid: Strong oxidizing agents

Hazardous reactions: Dust may form explosive mixture in air.

Stable under recommended storage conditions.

Hazardous decomposition products: In case of fire hazardous decomposition products may be produced such as:

Carbon dioxide (CO2), carbon monoxide (CO), oxides of nitrogen (NOx), dense black smoke.

Disposal considerations

Product / Contaminated packaging: In accordance with local and national regulations.
