Materials and methods

Type of study / information:
Phototoxicity
Test guideline
Qualifier:
no guideline available
Principles of method if other than guideline:
Each agent was applied to the backs of ten (10) men under occlusion for twenty-four (24) hours. A control site was treated with petrolatum. Then, one minimal erythema dose was given to the treated and control sites using the erythema producing radiation produced by the Westinghouse FS-20 lamp. Photo-toxicity is indicated by a marked flare at the sites treated by the test agents.
GLP compliance:
no
Remarks:
Study pre-dates GLP
