Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Endpoint:
biodegradation in water: simulation testing on ultimate degradation in surface water
Data waiving:
study scientifically not necessary / other information available
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because the substance is readily biodegradable
Endpoint:
biodegradation in water: sediment simulation testing
Data waiving:
study scientifically not necessary / other information available
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because the substance is readily biodegradable

Description of key information

No surface water or sediment degradation studies were conducted, so first order rate constants and half-lives for biodegradation in surface water and sediment were derived based on ready biodegradability results, in accordance with ECHA Guidance on Information Requirements and Chemical Safety Assessment, Chapter R.16.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Half-life in freshwater:
15 d
at the temperature of:
12 °C
Half-life in marine water:
15 d
at the temperature of:
12 °C
Half-life in freshwater sediment:
300 d
at the temperature of:
12 °C
Half-life in marine water sediment:
300 d
at the temperature of:
12 °C

Additional information

As the substance is readily biodegradable, default half-lives for freshwater and sediment were concluded in accordance with ECHA Guidance on Information Requirements and Chemical Safety Assessment, Chapter R.16.
