Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Key result
Type:
log Pow
Partition coefficient:
6.27
Temp.:
25 °C
pH:
7.9
Remarks on result:
other: Standard deviation: 0.03
Details on results:
Thermostated glass flasks containing the aqueous phase and n-octanol were slowly stirred, after
dosing the test item dissolved in octanol, until equilibrium distribution of the test item between
the two phases was achieved. The temperature was kept constant at 25 °C ± 1 °C. The
concentration of the test item in the phases was measured by HPLC with UV detection. The
partition coefficient (n-octanol/water) log Pow was calculated. The equilibrium distribution was
defined to be achieved, when four sampling intervals separated by at least 5 hours yielded
similar log Pow values, expressed by a plateau with zero slope (see Table 2). The testing was
performed in triplicate.
Conclusions:
The partition coefficient (n-octanol/water) log Pow of the test item was determined to be 6.27 ± 0.03 at a mean pH value of 7.9 (25°C).
Executive summary:

The partition coefficient (n-octanol/water) log Pow of the test item was determined using the slow-stirring method according to OECD 123.

The result is 6.27 ± 0.03 at a mean pH value of 7.9 (25°C).

Description of key information

The log Pow of the test item was determined to be 6.27 ± 0.03 at a mean pH value of 7.9 (25°C).

25 °C

Additional information

The logPow of the test substance was determined in a guideline test using the slow-stirring method according to OECD 123 at 25°C, which gave a result of logP at 6.27 ± 0.03 at a mean pH value of 7.9.
