Additional information

No data on acute toxicity of 1,2-Benzenedicarboxylic acid, di-C16-18-alkyl esters (CAS 90193-76-3) to fish are available. Therefore, data on the short-term toxicity to fish for the structurally related analogue substance Di(tridecyl)phthalate (CAS 119-06-2) was used as read-across in accordance with Regulation (EC) No. 1907/2006, Annex XI, 1.5. The acute toxicity was tested according to OECD guideline 203 using Oryzias latipes as test species. No mortality or other adverse effects were reported after an exposure period of 96 hours. A LC50 (96 h) > 50 mg/L was determined. Thus, based on the data of the read-across substances 1,2-Benzenedicarboxylic acid, di-C16-18-alkyl ester is not acutely toxic to fish within the limit of water solubility.
