Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Remove the subject to fresh air. Seek medical attention.
Emergency measure - Eyes: Flush immediately under running water for 15 minutes. Seek
medical attention.
Emergency measure - Skin: Wash skin with water for 15 minutes. Remove contaminated
clothing. Seek medical attention. Wash contaminated
clothing before reusing.
Emergency measure - Ingestion: Seek medical attention.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Carbon dioxide, dry chemical and water

Product arising from burning: May release toxic gases if burned.

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: Fire fighters should wear full protective clothing and self
contained breathing apparatus.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Avoid respiratory, eye and skin contact with this material
by using a respirator; chemical goggles and chemical
resistant gloves and suitable protective clothing,
respectively.

Spilled material should be swept up and placed into suitable
container for disposal. Dispose of material in accordance
with government requirements and ensure conformity to local
disposal regulations.

Avoid release to watercourses.

Provide good mechanical room ventilation.

Handling and storage

Handling: The substance will only be handled by trained personnel.
Exposure is minimal. Respiratory, skin and eye contact are
avoided using a respirator, chemical resistant gloves (butyl
rubber, PVC or neoprene gloves) and chemical splash goggles.
Mechanical room ventilation is provided.

Storage: The substance should be stored in closed, original container
in a cool, dry area at <20°C. Do not store in direct
sunlight or expose to light. Keep container closed when not
in use. Avoid storing longer than one year.

Packaging of the substance and or preparation: The preparation is packaged into one gallon or quart
bottles, which are put in a cardboard box.

Exposure controls / personal protection

Stability and reactivity

Danger other than fire: Keep away from light, oxidants, heat and sources of
ignition. Incompatible with strong oxidizers and bases.
Avoid exposure to light as acid will be generated.

Chemical reaction with water: None reported.

Dust explosion: N/A The material is present in low concentrations in a
liquid preparation.

Dust explosion determined by test: N

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Due to the low concentration of the substance in the product
formulation, recovery would not be effective. Contaminated
product cannot be recycled in most cases.

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: Not applicable

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Contaminated containers or spillages of the preparation
mixed with inert material (e.g. sand or soil) maybe disposed
of at an authorised tip in accordance with local
regulations.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: The usual route to destruction of this material is by
dissolution into a cleaning or wash solvent followed by
incineration.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: In the unlikely event that the preparation should enter the
water treatment systems, contaminated water should be
treated by means of flocculation precipitation. The
precipitated material should be incinerated.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - other: None known.

Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Not applicable as the substance will not be used by the
general public.
