A cut off value for log Kow (logKoc) of 3 is applied for adsorption potential of non-ionising substances (section R7a of the ECHA Guidance on information requirements).

Chloroethylenehas an estimated log Kow of 1.62.

The organic carbon-water partition coefficient (Koc) was calculated using KOCWIN v. 2.0. based on the first-order molecular connectivity index (MCI) and the logKow = 1.62.

Koc (estimated from MCI) = 21.73 L/kg, logKoc = 1.34

Koc (estimated from logKow) =25.44 L/kg; log Koc=1.41

These values indicate that adsorption onto soil and sediment is not likely to be important forchloroethylene.
