Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

In accordance with Annex VIII Column 2 of Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 REACH concerning the Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals, the adsorption/desorption screening test (required in Section 9.3.1) does not need to be conducted as the substance and its relevant degradation products decompose rapidly.

Despite not being a mandatory information requirement Alchisor CAL 123 was assessed for its absorption/desorption potential by determining the Log Koc. In a reliable (Klimisch 1) GLP compliant study conducted according to OECD Guideline 121 (Estimation of the Adsorption Coefficient (Koc) on Soil and on Sewage Sludge using High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC)) the extrapolated Log Koc of Behenyl Bottoms was found to be> 6.91.
