Description of key information

The biodegradability of 2-amino-2-ethyl-1,3-propanediol (AEPD) was investigated in two ready biodegradability studies and one inherent biodegradability study. AEPD did not meet the OECD criteria for ready biodegradability, but was rapidly degraded in the inherent test. The substance is thus expected to be rapidly degraded by microorganisms in the environment as well, and simulation tests for water and sediment or soil biodegradation tests are not considered necessary.
