Description of key information

Alcohols, C9-C11, branched is a non-polar narcotic, therefore, the application of EqP Theory is appropriate.  In addition, plants are generally less sensitive than other terrestrial animal species (Sverdrup, et.al., 2002).

Feasibility of performing a toxicity study with terrestrial plants has some practical difficulties associated with it due to the rapid biodegradability of Alcohols, C9 -C11, branched. Data on other alcohols (isopropyl alcohol) indicate aquatic organisms have similar sensitivity consistent with narcotic mode of action. This substance is a non-polar narcotic, therefore, the application of EqP Theory is appropriate. In addition, plants are generally less sensitive than other terrestrial animal species (Sverdrup, et.al., 2002).
