Description of key information

The lethal concentration (LC50) of 3-chloroaniline in soil macroorganism (Allolobophora tuberculata) in a short term study of 48 hrs study on the basis of mortality effect was estimated to be 169.22 mg/kg soil dw.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Short-term EC50 or LC50 for soil macroorganisms:
169.22 mg/kg soil dw

Based on the studies summarized in the above table for the target substance 3-chloroaniline and the read across substance 3,4-dichloroaniline in a soil macroorganisms (Allolobophora tuberculata and Eisenia fetida),the endpoint value was found to vary between the lethal concentration (LC50) = 169.22 mg/kg soil dw and effective concentration (EC50) = 90-270 mg/kg soil dw in a 48 hrs study to 21 days study on the basis of mortality and reproduction effect.
