Description of key information

Under the test conditions (OECD TG 201, test substance applied via a solvent) there were no effects on micro-algae. The highest test substance concentration tested was nominal 100 µg/L, which was measured at 89 µg/L on day 0. The measured geometric mean of the test concentration was 9 µg/L. This was accounted to loss of the substance to the exposure containers and potentially to algal cells (this was not analytically confirmed). There were no effects observed or measured on the micro-algae. Therefore, it is not scientifically justified to use the results of the study for PNEC derivation purposes as a reliable NOEC or another effect metric was not defined. Study results where effects were measured was used for the derivation of the PNEC (IUCLID record 6.1.4).
