Additional information

The OECD toolbox v3.4 study for repeated dose according to TG422 (oral, rat, gavage, 45d) gave as NOEL result 226 mg/kg bw/day

In the same OECD TG422 protocol for the close analogue substance 2,2,4,4 -tetramethylpiperidin-4 -ol (EINECS 219 -291 -2), which is missing the methyl-group on the N, its OECD SIDS describes a LOAEL of 60 mg/kg based on ophthalmological signs. Other effects (mortality) only occurred at the highest dose level of 600 mg/kg/d. A NOAEL could not be identified.

Justification for classification or non-classification

At the found effect level of NOEL=226 mg/kg/d in this OECD TG422 study there is no requirement for classification.
