Description of key information

According to structural properties, hydrolysis is not expected.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

(2-hydroxyethyl)ammonium nitrate is soluble in water and dissociates into (2 -hydroxyethyl)ammonium and nitrate ions. Neither one of the two dissociation products are expected to be susceptible to hydrolysis because they both do not contain hydrolysable groups. Thus, hydrolysis as a mechanism of degradation is unlikely to play an appreciable role in the environmental fate of (2-hydroxyethyl)ammonium nitrate.
