Executive summary:

In an acute inhalation toxicity study (Khalepo, 1968), groups of rats and mice were exposed by inhalation route to meta-trifluoromethylaniline for 4 hours. Animals were observed for 2 weeks. LC50= 0.44 mg/L for rats and 0.69 mg/L for mice.

Meta-trifluoromethylaniline is classified as toxic T R23 by inhalation route, according to the EU classification criteria (67/548/EC directive).

It is classified acute category 3 (H331), according to CLP criteria.
