Description of key information

The loading rate of test item causing a 50 % reduction in growth rate at 72h (EL50) was estimated to be higher than 100 mg/L.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The toxicity of the test item for a duration of 72 hours was assessed according to the OECD Guideline 201. Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata were exposed under static conditions to 100 mg/L (WAF) of the test item dissolved in dilution water (limit test). The toxic effect measured during the assay was the inhibition of growth rate and biomass after 72 hours of exposure. No effects on growth rate were observed at the loading rate of 100 mg/L. The 50% effect loading rate (EL50) at 72h for growth rate was estimated to be higher than 100 mg/L.

The 50% effect loading rate (EL50) at 72h for biomass was estimated to be close to the loading rate of 100 mg/L
